"Warm and heartfelt"
I absolutely loved this book. It is honest, funny, moving and full of moments that made me stop and think. Scott’s openness makes the bigger ideas about confidence feel wonderfully human.

“Admiring Scott’s writing”
Scott writes with an unusual mixture of intelligence, bluntness, warmth and self-deprecating humour. Even when the ideas become philosophical, the book stays grounded in ordinary life and feels completely accessible. A brilliant bok that I am already recommending to family and friends!

“For somebody sceptical of self-help”
I’m not normally a great reader of self-help books, but this is completely different. There are no miraculous promises or empty motivational slogans. Instead, Scott questions his own assumptions and allows the reader to decide what, if anything, applies to them. Refreshing and excellent!

“A rare find!”
There were passages here that genuinely caught me off guard. Beneath the humour is a deeply moving book about becoming a father, loving imperfectly, making mistakes and learning what to carry forward. A rare find, definitely a five-star read, and thoroughly recommended.

“The author’s ideas work!”
Scott comes across as remarkably open about his successes, failures, contradictions and mistakes. That honesty is what makes the ideas work. He isn’t preaching from some imaginary mountain top; he is working things out through the life he has actually lived.

“A beautiful book”
The memoir sections are wonderfully entertaining in their own right, from childhood mischief and plastering to Muay Thai, Australia, marriage and fatherhood. But gradually you realise that all these apparently separate experiences are feeding into something much bigger and more interesting. A beautiful book, and a credit to the author.
